Morning Walk: Wale’s Alley

Wale’s Alley, originally named Fitzgerald Alley, is a picturesque street in Old Town for picture talking or just an enhanced surrounding for your morning stroll. Named after the Andrew Wales, Alexandria’s first brewer. You can see the site of his second brewer in Old Town as we finish our walk through the alley.

Wale’s had a complex history, he did not support the American Revolution but stayed in Alexandria even after we kicked Great Britain’s ass. Merica!

One of Wale’s most prominent customers was, you guessed it, big G-Dubs. Washington would buy barely and some brewskis from Wale’s for over 30 years in Alexandria.

Sorry, I am not sorry about my bad after effects. I am just going to lean in to learning it.
